Hawkins

The Hawkins family is another important branch of the family history I am working to uncover and preserve. My research currently leads back to Linkfield Hawkins and Martha Hawkins, whose family was connected to the Onslow County area and the communities that existed before the development of Camp Lejeune.

Linkfield Hawkins is especially important to this research because records and family history indicate that he was connected to land at Mill Branch, an area that would later become part of the Camp Lejeune story. Their daughter, Laura Hawkins, married Joseph Foy, connecting the Hawkins and Foy families.

Their family line eventually leads to Addie Foy, who is an important part of my own family history. I am continuing to research these connections through deeds, census records, newspaper articles, photographs, family documents, and stories passed down through generations.

There is still much more to discover about Linkfield, Martha, Laura, and the Hawkins family. As new information is verified, it will be added to this page.
