Tram Unity Productions

Edmund Batts, better known as Trama, is a North Carolina hip-hop producer whose musical journey began in 1998. For more than two decades, Trama has been creating beats and contributing to the independent music scene, particularly in the Jacksonville and Eastern North Carolina area.

Through Tram Unity Productions, Trama has built a catalog of original hip-hop productions and worked with independent artists who were looking for a sound of their own. His public production catalog includes tracks such as “J-Ville Ain't Nuthin 2 F Wit,” “Northside Anthem,” “South Banger,” “Clubbaz,” and “Colossal.” His SoundClick catalog documents more than 60 productions and thousands of plays.

But Trama's story is about more than the beats themselves. His contribution to the independent music community has also been about giving artists an opportunity. His public profile states that he has given away more than 100 tracks to local artists, reflecting a willingness to help other musicians create and develop their own music.

Trama is also an important part of the musical history behind Nine1Zero ENT. His relationship with Livewire D Xprt goes back to the early years of their musical journey, with beats, recording sessions, collaborations, ideas, and projects helping build a relationship that has lasted for decades.

For Nine1Zero, Trama represents something bigger than simply being a producer. He represents the people behind the music—the producers, beat makers, artists, and creators who helped build an independent Carolina music culture long before today's digital platforms made it easier for music to reach the world.

From 1998 to today, the music has continued. The beats have changed. Technology has changed. But the connection to the culture has remained.
